About
Naila Edries

Naila Edries is a seasoned Physiotherapist and co-founder of Thrive Physiotherapy in Rondebosch East, with over 20 years of experience. She holds both a Batchelor of Science (BSc) and Master of Science (MSc) degree in Physiotherapy from the University of Cape Town and has worked in both public and private healthcare settings, specializing in musculoskeletal and orthopaedic rehabilitation, chronic pain management, woman’s health and post-surgical recovery.  Naila’s interest in pain and holistic patient management lead her to obtaining a post-graduate diploma in interdisciplinary pain management from the Department of Anaesthesia, UCT in 2017. She adopts a biopsychosocial approach to patient management which considers the biological, physiological, psychological and social factors which influences one’s pain and wellbeing. Naila’s approach focuses on restoring function and long-term wellness, going beyond symptom relief. Known for her calm and empathetic nature, she combines hands-on techniques with evidence-based rehab, empowering clients to actively participate in their recovery. Whether helping patients recover from surgery, manage pain, or return to sport or work, Naila tailors her treatments to each person’s needs, earning her trust and respect in the community.

In addition to Naila’s clinical work she is a lecturer and researcher at the University of Cape Town. Due to her academic commitments, Naila is available for clinical appointments on Saturdays, by prior appointment only.

“Movement is healing — and every step forward is a step toward strength, balance, and renewed confidence.”
