About
Amirah Daniels
Amirah Daniels is a passionate Speech Therapist based at Ratchwood Family Practice. She earned her BSc in Speech-Language Pathology from the University of Cape Town in 2017 and completed her community service year at Ermelo Regional Hospital, where she provided therapy services across both hospital settings and rural clinics. Her journey has since expanded into non-profit work and private practice, where she supports clients across all age groups — from early childhood through to adulthood. In addition to running her own practice, Amirah is a clinical supervisor at UCT and a therapist at the Carel du Toit Centre, a specialist facility for children with hearing loss. Her broad experience, paired with her dedication to inclusive care, makes her an advocate for accessible, high-quality speech therapy for all.
“Communication is connection — and everyone deserves the tools to be heard, understood, and empowered.”
Amirah is particularly passionate about supporting neurodivergent individuals, especially children on the Autism Spectrum. She also works closely with adults facing cognitive-communication difficulties and swallowing disorders (dysphagia). Her approach is rooted in evidence-based techniques and functional goals, ensuring that therapy is meaningful, collaborative, and relevant to everyday life. Whether she’s working one-on-one in her practice, conducting home or school visits, or leading outreach through non-profit initiatives, Amirah brings warmth, empathy, and professionalism to every session. She believes that interdisciplinary teamwork and family involvement are vital to long-term progress — and she’s committed to walking the journey with each client and caregiver.
